We held an interview with Jim to allow you an insight into his background, history and future.
Q: Can you tell us a bit about your Career Jim?
"I am a time served Electrician, and I acquired a C&G technicians Degree.
After qualifying as a Technical Engineer I became an Electrical Engineer in the Merchant Navy, a learning curve and an enjoyable 5 years.
My desire was always to have a career in sales so I joined F.G.Wilson, selling Diesel Generators, and in 1984 joined Wilo Pumps to head up their industrial sales.
We took the industrial pump sales from £0 to over £1m.
I left Wilo to join Finheat Ltd as Managing Director, and in 1986 became the sole owner.
We built turnover up to €13.2 million from £700k, however, sadly Finheat was a victim of the financial crash.
My son Gavin and I then formed Airvac.
I am responsible for the agency's sales and marketing.
Q: What motivates you now?
Getting involved with a company like Damvent is exciting. It gives me the energy to carry on selling which I love.
Q: What's next for you?
"The plan is to establish Damvent as the No1 Integrated Fresh Air Hybrid Unit in the Irish market.
